What is Tonsillitis?

1. Basil

Basil has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Its healing properties and soothing qualities will help reduce swelling and pain as well as speed up the healing process.

1.  Boil ten basil leaves in a glass of water. Mix in four crushed peppercorns to it. Boil it till only about half a glass of water is remaining in the pan. Strain the mixture and combine some sugar with it. Drink it hot thrice a day.

2.  Add 10 to 12 basil leaves to one and one-half cups of water. Boil for 10 minutes. Strain and add the juice from one lemon to this mixture. If needed, add one teaspoon of honey to sweeten it. Drink this three times a day for two to three days.


2. Salt water

Salt will help kill the virus or bacteria. Additionally, salt helps in reducing the swelling, giving you instant relief.

Mix one teaspoon of table salt in a cup of warm water. Gargle with the solution. Do not swallow it. Spit the water out after gargling. Repeat this as often as possible for speedy recovery.



3. Lemon

Drink a mixture made up of warm water and lemon juice, with a squeeze of salt and dark pepper added to it.
