According to British researchers “the
chicken must have come first because the formation of egg shells is only
possible due to a specific protein found only in a chicken's ovaries; hence an
egg can exist only if it has been inside a chicken.
The protein called ‘ovocledidin-17’, or
‘OC-17’, works as a medium to speed up the growth of the shell.
Previous assumption
It had long been assumed that the egg
came first but now scientists have the considerable scientific proof which
shows that ‘the chicken came first. Research says, protein ‘ovocledidin-17’ is
linked to egg formation and controls the process. Protein OC-17 is very crucial
in crystallization - the early stages of forming a shell.
Protein OC-17 coverts calcium carbonate
into calcite crystals which makes the egg shell, it creates six gram of shell every
day.
